Kudos to Blog for Arizona

Unethical 'Breakfast with the Judge' flyer by Clancy Jayne We've never heard of Judge Clancy Jayne before. But we tripped across one of his ethics violations at blogforarziona.com doing a search for something or other. (Probably searching to find out if judges are allowed to participate in political activities.)

Here's the money quote from their post:
How on earth does Justice of the Peace Clancy Jayne, who is a former Republican member of the State Legislature and former elected Precinct Committeeman for his party in LD 6, expect not only to appear at a breakfast with Rep. Ben Quayle as he kicks off his reelection campaign, but speak at it, and host, and pay for its publication without running afoul of the ethical rules?
Well, he couldn't.

As we'll see in the next post, the fairly useless Commission Judicial Conduct somehow received information about Justice of the Peace Clancy Jayne's activities and opened its own investigation. "While the record would normally include the complaint, no complaint was filed and thus none is publicly available."

(Our bloggers experience with the Commission is it is highly unusual for the Commission to begin an investigation sua sponte. Even though Justice Clancy Jayne violated the Rules, one wonders if the fact that the Commission acted sua sponte wasn't politically motivated? The Bar and Commission being Liberals and all.)

Next post is the results of that investigation. (Yes, you guessed it. A "reprimand." Ewwww... that'll teach him!)
